Victory! Bali Cuts Out Cruel Canine Culling!
Good news! Thanks to a massive public outcry over its use of strychnine to cull the local stray dog population in an attempt to control a rabies epidemic, the Balinese government recently signed an agreement to work with the Bali Animal Welfare Association to develop an islandwide rabies vaccination. This means that the government has agreed to use mass vaccination to control and eliminate rabies, thereby ending the culling of Bali’s dogs for good.
This victory would never have happened had it not been for the thousands of people who gave a voice to the animals by writing to Indonesian government officials through our website. You, too, can stand up and be heard by joining our activist network today!
