PETA Australia Asks Fashion Week Attendees to ‘Have a Heart’
PETA Australia had a simple plea for attendees at Melbourne Fashion Week—have a heart for animals, and don’t support mulesing. The protest is the latest action in PETA Australia’s campaign against the Australian wool industry’s “mulesing” mutilation of lambs. In mulesing, large chunks of skin and flesh are cut from lambs’ backsides in a crude attempt to prevent maggot infestation, even though more humane methods exist.
Want to help end this? Never buy wool, and pledge that the only skin you’re in is your own!
