Dubai Firefighters Are Heroes for Animals
When PETA learned that firefighters rescued several animals from the burning Sulafa Tower, one of the tallest residential buildings in Dubai, last week, we decided to give them a Hero to Animals Award!

Firefighters worked quickly to make numerous trips up the 75-story building to rescue dogs, cats, birds, and other animals trapped inside the burning structure. The animals were placed in cages, carried down the flights of stairs, and reunited with their guardians outside. For their efforts, rescue workers will receive a framed certificate and a letter of appreciation from PETA.
Residents of Dubai are very fortunate to have emergency-service personnel who are ready to protect and serve both the city’s human and animal residents. Tweet your thanks to the Dubai Civil Defence.
