Anti-Fur Message-on-Wheels Rocks Jo’burg
Displaying graphic images of skinned animals and emblazoned with the caption “Here’s the rest of your fur coat,” a trailer, sponsored by Monique Friedland and her family, is cruising the streets of Johannesburg to remind people about the cruelty associated with the fur industry. The whole thing was organized by the awesome South African activist group Fur Free.
Because there are no regulations governing fur farms in major producers like China, farmers can house and slaughter animals however they see fit—meaning miserable lives and excruciatingly painful deaths. Investigators discovered animals—suffering from anxiety-induced psychosis—pacing and shivering in tiny outdoor wire cages, chewing on their own limbs, and throwing themselves repeatedly against the cage bars. Many of the animals are still alive and struggling desperately when hung to be skinned. When their skin is peeled off, some animals remain conscious for up to 10 minutes.
You can help put a stop to this cruel industry by shunning fur and by taking our fur-free pledge today!
