3 Reasons Why UGGs Are Just as Bad as Fur
If you’re still wearing UGGs, it’s time for a wake-up call—or three:
1. Wearing UGGs is just as cruel as wearing fur.
UGGs are made from the skin of sheep—and we all know how they are treated in the wool industry, right? Sheep used for their wool and skin often have their ears hole-punched and their tails chopped off, and males are castrated—typically without any pain relief.
Not-so-fun fact: It’s considered “normal” in the Australian wool industry for approximately 3 million young lambs to die every spring.
2. Your UGGs, like fur, are destroying the planet.
A report by the Environmental Working Group found that sheep are the biggest producers of greenhouse-gas emissions—even more so than cows. Wool production also results in land destruction and water pollution.
3. UGGs aren’t cool—just like fur.
Cruelty has never been attractive, so don’t embarrass yourself—drop the dead skin for something that’s in. Pamela Anderson’s Pammies are stylish boots that you can parade in without feeling any guilt—something UGG boots can’t offer you.

The bottom line: If you think animals shouldn’t be killed for their skin, don’t wear them.
