8 Reasons Why VegFest Pilipinas Is Going to Blow Your Mind (Spoiler: It’s Not Just the Delicious Vegan Food)
VegFest Pilipinas is back, and this year, it’s coming to the BGC Arts Center on November 17 and 18 with a series of events and a smorgasbord of vegan food, from meat-free longganisa and isaw to dairy-free cheese, ice cream, and lasagne. Last year’s event attracted 10,000 attendees, and here are eight reasons (other than the delicious vegan food) why you shouldn’t miss this year’s VegFest Pilipinas:
1. #Vegainz
Ever wonder where your favorite vegan athletes and Instagram bodybuilders get their protein? Are you considering going vegan but worried about your gains? Then don’t miss out on nutrition specialist and vegan bodybuilder Ciara Juan’s talk about her vegan bodybuilding journey.
2. Animal Rights Documentary Dominion
Experience arguably the most cutting-edge animal rights documentary to date, narrated by Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Sia, Kat Von D, and Sadie Sink, on November 18. Dominion encourages people to reflect on the impact that they may be having on animals because of what they’re eating, wearing, or supporting for entertainment.
3. Cooking Classes
Whether you’re hoping to impress your family with fancy vegan dishes or need to make quick and easy vegan meals on busy nights, you’ll definitely learn all the tips and tricks at VegFest Pilipinas.
4. Yoga, Dance, and Workout Classes
These classes are led by industry pros, and they’re all free. So put on something comfy, bring a mat, and reward yourself with a vegan feast after your workout.
5. PETA’s Adoption Corner
Who isn’t looking fur a little love in life? If you’re ready for the responsibility of welcoming an animal into your family, PETA has several cuties available for adoption. Check out our stall for more information. If you can’t wait until then, please e-mail us at [email protected] for more information.
6. Live Music
Sit back and relax (with a double scoop of vegan ice cream, of course) to the soulful feel-good tunes of Meleena, the crooning of True Faith’s vegan vocalist Meds Marfil, and songs by countless other talented musicians.
7. Recycling
As if VegFest Pilipinas weren’t terrific enough, the trash from the event will be recycled as school chairs! It doesn’t get more #ZeroWaste than this.
8. There’s an EDM Party After Sunset
Work off all the vegan food that you’ve eaten throughout the day by dancing the night away with these super-cool DJs.
