On August 8, Your Soy Latte Can Help Dogs and Cats
On Thursday, August 8, select cafés around Metro Manila and Hong Kong are celebrating International Cat Day by donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of delicious dairy-free coffee drinks to PETA’s “Kapon/Ligation Immediately, Please” (KLIP) spay/neuter program. We can’t think of a better excuse to order that extra afternoon pick-me-up!
Want to get your caffeine fix while helping animals? Just head to any of these participating cafés in Metro Manila on the 8th, and order their “Coffee for Cats” signature drink:
KLIP makes services available to impoverished communities in the Philippines that otherwise wouldn’t have access to them. It provides not only spay and neuter surgeries to prevent the births of more homeless animals but also essential care, such as vaccinations, deworming, and treatments for everything from mange to cancerous tumors. Spaying or neutering dogs and cats also provides them with important health benefits. And we’ve found that when people take advantage of these low-cost or free surgeries, their attitudes are often changed by the caring and professional veterinary teams and by the high-quality care given to animals they may have previously regarded as having little value. These guardians typically start to view their animal companions with more respect—and often as members of the family.
If you don’t live in Metro Manila or Hong Kong, you can still support PETA’s vital work to end the homeless-animal overpopulation crisis by making a gift right now:
