Investigations Assistant
Position Objective:
To conduct research on a variety of assigned topics and help oversee investigations in order to promote the goals of the organization

Reports To:
Manager of Investigations
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Research a variety of animal protection issues to help further PETA’s investigative work
- Ensure the factual accuracy of publications related to PETA’s investigations
- Review and prepare investigative footage, working with investigators and other stakeholders, so that findings can be shared internally as well as with journalists, authorities, and others
- Procure equipment for investigators
- Track expenses as well as complete and turn in expense reports on a regular basis
- Follow legal and professional guidelines and call issues to your supervisor’s attention
- File complaints with local authorities based on investigations
- Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
- Perform any other duties assigned by the vice president
Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues
- Demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth research
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure
- Proven excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Proven effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to share complex findings in an easily comprehensible way
- Willingness and ability to follow instructions carefully
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion at all times
- Ability to make sound judgments
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrated support for PETA’s philosophy and the ability to advocate professionally for our positions on issues
- Commitment to the objectives of the organization
