Meet the 2012 Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity Winners!

Singing sensation Aya Liu has been crowned Asia’s Sexiest Vegetarian Woman of 2012, while singer-songwriter Khalil Fong, who has held the lead in the contest since it was posted, won the title of Asia’s Sexiest Vegetarian Man. Musician Missy Higgins was declared the Australian winner.

Considered by some the “new queen of entertainment,” singer and TV show host Liu has emceed several award ceremonies and New Year’s concerts in the past few years. She won the 43th Golden Bell Award with her variety show Guess in 2008. In 2010, her TV show won the Best Variety Show Award at the Tencent Star Awards Ceremony in China.

Fong—who has won many awards, including 2009’s Most Talented Composer-Singer (Hong Kong and Taiwan area) in the Sprite China Original Music Billboard Awards—achieved fame with his first album, Soul Boy. Last year, he released his sixth album, 15, and won five awards at the Chik Chak 903 Ultimate Song Chart Awards.

“Animals are my brothers and sisters, so it’s against my conscience to eat them,” says Liu on her Weibo.

“I don’t get sick often because I’ve been a vegetarian for a long time,” says Fong, who also won the title in last year’s contest. “People should stay away from dairy products for health reasons.”

Higgins—a longtime vegetarian—recently announced her Ol’ Razzle Dazzle Tour for June and July this year, with some shows already selling out, following the highly anticipated release of her next album. Her latest single, “Unashamed Desire,” is currently climbing to the top of the charts.

Other popular contenders in the poll include actors Gao Yuanyuan and Blue Lan, Indian film heavyweights Kareena Kapoor and R Madavan, model-turned-Hollywood hottieMaggie Q, Mongolian singer Nominjin, model Imogen Bailey, musicians Ash Grunwald and John Butler, actor Abbie Cornish, surfer Dave Rastovich, and Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker.
