World’s Saddest Dolphins

Twenty-five dolphins, who once called the vast ocean home, are now facing a life sentence of imprisonment thanks to Resorts World, which plans to use them as an attraction at its Marine Life Park in Sentosa, Singapore. Two dolphins have already died while waiting for an enclosure to be built after their capture near the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean.

Dolphin parks and aquariums are part of a billion-dollar business built on the suffering of intelligent, social beings who are denied everything that is natural and important to them. The 25 remaining animals face a life that’s sure to be full of boredom, confinement, misery, and deprivation. Dolphins communicate and navigate through the use of sound waves. In tanks, the sound waves that they emit bounce off the walls, leaving the animals dazed, confused, and frustrated.
