Aussie Pork Producers to Pull the Plug on Gestation Stalls by 2017!

Whoa! I just heard that Australia’s major pork producers have finally announced that they’ll phase out the use of gestation stalls by 2017!

Although we’ve heard promises from the Land Down Under before—we’re looking at you, Australian Wool Innovation—we’re keeping our hopes up for a major breakthrough for the millions of mother pigs who are kept constantly pregnant and forced into tiny crates so small that the animals can’t even turn around.

You don’t have to wait until 2017 to help these animals, you know. By keeping pigs off your plate, you’ll be sending a message that any abuse of these smart, sensitive animals is simply unacceptable!
