Hair-Care Brand Aussie Bans Animal Tests and Goes Cruelty-Free!
The PETA U.S. Beauty Without Bunnies program has welcomed Procter & Gamble’s Aussie hair-care brand to its list of companies and brands that have permanently banned all tests on animals worldwide. Around the globe, all of Aussie’s haircare products are now certified cruelty-free!
“Cruelty-free beauty is an important value for Aussie, both for our employees and for Aussie-lovers around the world,” stated Procter & Gamble Global Beauty & Grooming Chief Communications Officer Kelly Vanasse.
Be on the lookout for the cruelty-free bunny logo on Aussie’s iconic purple bottles in the very near future.
Working alongside PETA U.S. scientists, Aussie took careful steps to ensure that its products are never tested on animals in China—a country notorious for its animal-testing requirements for cosmetics. There, Aussie sells only domestically manufactured non–special use products, which are not required to be tested on animals.
Procter & Gamble has worked with PETA U.S. for many years to help end animal testing in the beauty industry around the world, leading to notable progress in countries such as China. The company is also collaborating with scientists from PETA U.S. to replace the use of animals in deadly toxicity testing.
Earlier this year, iconic Procter & Gamble brand Herbal Essences made the compassionate choice to stop testing on animals and was also added to PETA U.S.’ Beauty Without Bunnies database.
It’s up to us as consumers to help prevent animals from being subjected to torturous and deadly product testing. More than ever, shoppers want products that do no harm. We hope other companies will listen and follow Aussie’s compassionate choice to spare animals suffering in cruel, horrifying tests and go cruelty-free.
